  • “I am truly thankful to be a scholarship recipient of the Northwood Woman’s Club! Because of this organization, I have been able to shift my focus from worrying about how to finance my education to achieving my dreams and life-long goals. From a young age, I always loved learning and the opportunities it brings. Thanks to the Northwood Woman’s Club, I have been able to focus on my academics which has led me to maintaining a 4.0 GPA so far, as well as be able to get involved in my community via leadership in my sorority, Pi Beta Phi. I have landed a job at Toyota’s North American Headquarters following graduation in May, and I could not be more excited to take on this next journey! I am so thankful for all of the support I have received leading up to now, and because of this I have not only grown professionally, but also as an individual and I am forever grateful for that.

    Thank you for everything!”

  • “Hello, my name is Brandy Escobar and I am currently a third-year Sustainability major at the University of Texas at Austin. I would like to thank all the women in the organization that believed in me! With this scholarship, I was able to find my passion and explore a new version of Brandy in Austin! I wish to one day become a Sustainability Policy Analyst and enforce more eco-friendly policies to save our planet and promote a sustainable way of living. I cannot wait to continue testing my capabilities and see what this world has in store for me!”

  • “My name is Josephine Kalondji and I am honored to have been one of the recipients of the Northwood Woman’s Club Scholarship. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity in funding Northwood Woman’s Club Scholarship. Thanks to your donation, I am able to continue my education. As I further my education at the College of the Holy Cross, I am grateful for your thoughtful gift. Because of your scholarship, I am able to deepen my understanding of diversity as I explore the field of anthropology and the French language. The Northwood Woman’s Club Scholarship has paid for my tuition and other school expenses, allowing me to focus on my academic pursuits. Your gift has helped me get a step closer to my future success. Thank you for your continued support and investment in my life.”

  • “As a first-generation student, pursuing a higher education as opened incredible opportunities that I would never have envisioned engaging without concern of financial strain. In Fact, I am excited to be studying abroad in Portugal this upcoming Summer 2022! The generosity of the Northwood Woman’s Club and contributing donors has absolutely changed my life. Education became accessible to me via this scholarship and it’s gratifying to know that organizations like NWD value the importance of a college education. I’m blessed to have received support toward my education and can attest that I am one step closer to achieving mine and my family’s dreams as a blossoming professional and a voice for underprivileged communities as I continue to pursue a career in medicine.”

  • “In 2011, I was the fortunate recipient of the Northwood Women's Scholarship through the University of Texas at Dallas. This scholarship FULLY paid for my 2nd year of graduate school. Since then, I have paid off both undergraduate degree and master's degree and am STUDENT LOAD DEBT FREE! This is in large part to your generosity and support of women who've overcome adversity to receive an education. I completed a master's degree in Communication Disorders in 2012 and have been a practicing licensed speech-language pathologist or the past 6 years. I currently practice speech therapy at Children's Medical Center in Plano & Dallas where I help a variety of children with special needs in both an in-patient and out-patient settings. I provide communication and feeding therapy to children ages birth to 21 with a wide variety of diagnoses including: swallowing/feeding difficulties, autism, brain tumors, heart disease, chromosome abnormalities, (ex. Down Syndrome), speech-language delays, and developmental delays. I wanted to reach out and let you know how you’re your scholarship positively impacted my life and say THANK YOU once again for helping me reach my goals of helping others in need. I am forever grateful.”

  • “In 2017, I was a recipient of the UTD Northwood Woman’s Club Endowed Scholarship and attended your amazing luncheon. I wanted to say thank you again for making the scholarship available as I have now graduated with my Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Originally, my plan was to attend law school, but in six months, I will become a certified internal auditor. While I do plan on attending law school later in my future, I could not pass on the opportunity to start a new path to better my family. So thank you again for your generosity as you helped me get to where I am today.”
