Since 1968, the ladies of Northwood Woman’s Club have made an impact on the communities in which they live. These women work tirelessly with no staff or office to fundraise for designated beneficiaries, special community projects, and academic scholarships. They volunteer countless hours in community agencies throughout the Dallas Metroplex. Social opportunities strengthen friendships and offer intellectual and cultural growth. Today, the NWC women have lived up to and exceeded the purpose established by the nine founding members. The tradition of dedication, hard work, and commitment to serve others continued in 2018-2019 when NWC marked its 50th Anniversary Year with a philanthropic focus on a singular recipient, the Callier Center for Communication Disorders. Callier agreed to match whatever amount NWC raised up to $250,000. NWC accepted the challenge which established the $500,000 NWC Endowment for Callier Center Patient Care. Funds will be used in perpetuity to support delivery of care to patients and families who have limited financial resources.
