Grants

The Northwood Woman's Club has a long tradition of supporting charitable agencies in Dallas and Collin County.  Grant applications will be accepted from September 1, 2018 through October 31, 2018 and will not be accepted past the October 31 deadline.  Approved requests will receive funds in May, 2020.

Documents explain eligibility requirements and the limit of two (2) years of funding within a four year period. (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019)

Eleven (11) complete collated copies of all documents, plus one (1) copy of IRS FORM 990, and one (1) copy of the latest verification of tax exempt status from the IRS are required to be submitted at the same time.

GRANT APPLICATION GUIDELINES

  1. Grant requests are only accepted from September 1 through October 31 at which time the     application      process is closed.

  2. A grant request received in the fall of 2018 is eligible for funding in May 2020.

  3. NWC is solely interested in 501(c)(3) non-profit agencies in Dallas and/or Collin County.

  4. Historically NWC has been focused on meeting the critical needs of women and children.

  5. An agency may receive funding in May 2020 if it has not received funding twice in the previous four years. The four-year span prior to this requested funding is 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019.

  6. The NWC Philanthropy Director will arrange a brief site visit to each agency under consideration in February 2019. The committee will tour the facilities, discuss the request in detail, and meet any staff members who are key to the request.

  7. Agencies will be notified by NWC as to their acceptance or not by May 1, 2019.

  8. The grant application and Fast Fact Sheet are posted on the NWC website for downloading.

  9. Eleven (11) complete collated packets and supplemental material in an envelope or folder should be delivered or mailed to the NWC Philanthropy Director by the October 31st deadline. (Only 2 IRS FORM 990's are needed)

  10. If selected, NWC requires a NWC member to serve as a non-voting liaison on the agency's Board of Directors for two years from June 1, 2019 through May 31, 2021.
