 Bonton Farms  

                                                        

Bonton Farms is a working farm, apiary, and market bringing fresh produce to a former food desert.  Grant will expand Bonton Farms’ education-focused summer program for “at risk youth” in 2021. The education program focus is on children in K-5 with lessons on health, nutrition, environment, mentorship, and literacy.

ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship        

                                                               

ManeGait provides Equine Therapy for brain-related injury and/or disabilities in children and adults including military veterans. Gaitway to the Brain Program, unique to ManeGait, provides intensive therapy incorporating brain-building exercises for Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, Developmental Delay, Down syndrome, ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD.

Mommies in Need     

                                              

Annie’s Place is a no-cost drop-in childcare center serving 40 parents and 60 children every weekday while their mothers undergo critical therapy procedures at Parkland Hospital.  Our grant will help to ensure that the nannies caring for the children at Annie’s Place are trained to handle the children’s needs.

   Youth with Faces 

                                                         

The only non-profit working within the Dallas County Juvenile Department to give youngsters aged 11-17 (non-violent offenders) a second chance so they can create positive futures. Our grant will fund: PREP Dog Training; Culinary Arts experience working with Dallas chefs and catering professionals; Career Readiness skills; and Welding Technology offering OSHA & ASW industry certifications.

Northwood Woman’s Club Scholarship Fund at Communities Foundation of Texas

The Fund provides scholarships to support deserving young women currently residing in Dallas or Collin County who wish to continue their education so they may secure more opportunities for a better life.  They may attend any college of their choice. 2020 Scholarship Awardees are attending: College of the Holy Cross, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Baylor, UNT, UT, and Texas A & M.

 NWC ENDOWMENTS

 

 Northwood Woman’s Club Scholarship Fund Endowment at the University of Texas at Dallas

 This is a permanent endowment established in 1986 for the benefit of the University of Texas at Dallas.  This awards scholarships to two high achieving students who demonstrate a financial need and a strong motivation to complete their degrees.

 Northwood Woman’s Club Endowment for Patient Care at the Callier Center for Communication Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas

 

The NWC Endowment for Patient Care is a permanent endowment for the support of the Callier Center for Communication Disorders at UTD. It was established in May 2019.
